Your Fired

We all know that Rupert Murdoch owns Fox News Corp and Fox News Corp owns myspace, well i found an article that discuss how Rupert Murdoch is planning to fire the two founders of myspace. This is pretty funny to me because i never heard of a owner nor a founder getting fired from a company they created, Murdoch is looking to tap into the internet generation after a life time of working with newspapers. This is Rupert Murdoch at his best using his power to make changes and do to facebook catching up to myspace Rupert decides to removed both Tom Anderson and co-founder Chris DeWolfe sooner instead of waiting because their contracts expires soon.

Where have you been

Guess who's back? Eminem is back, yes i said Eminem since his last album that came out 3 or 5 years ago nobody has heard nor seen Eminem. Eminem just put out his first single called "We Made You" produced by Dr. Dre and he doesnt waste no time throwing other celebrities under the bus, as a fan off Eminem im happy to see someone bring back humor to the rap game because i got tired of these dance songs and artist being to gangsta. Even though Eminem gets criticize for his lyrical content i think the man deserves all the success he recieves, majority of these hip hop artist dont keep it original or real and when i see videos like the one below i get entertained and thats what Eminem is paid to do.

Commercials

Well majority of us probably played Halo the video game or over heard people talking about playing online against all sorts of people, I was watching tv and this commercial came on at first i thought this was a movie because i dont normally see video games shown like this but as a consumer this ad made me want to go out and buy this game when it comes out. After reading the case study on selling to audiences i thought this would be a good topic to blog about, this commercial was made to grab the attention of its audience by making seem like it was a movie. This commercial was broadcast later in the day so i figured advertisers wanted the mature audience to see this commercial so they can go out and purchase the video game.

Cat Fight

Reality Shows are the most popular thing to watch on television these days, every week viewers tune in to watch their favorite reality shows filled wit cast members they probably never seen before. The audience that view these shows consist of people from all ages and race, the effect these shows have on the audience are amazing. I have friends who fit reality shows into their daily schedule and others who text in votes for shows such as American Idol and So you think you can dance. The clip that i posted up shows you the effect a reality show can have on its audience, its sad that people can be influenced this easily and situations like this occur.

Borat is back

Just came across this preview for this new Borat movie it looks pretty funny but there are some controversial scenes in this movie. At 2:07 Borat has a child riding with him on his scooter and as he rides off he almost gets hit by a vehicle, some say that this is child abuse others are hoping that this is a special effect or something. The movie looks funny but that once scene is disturbing and i hope that he didnt put no child in danger while shooting this scene.

Global News

Touching base on what we discuss after we took our class quiz on Tuesday i was watching CNN and they were reporting the crimes that are going on in Mexico due to drug cartels that run the country. One of our questions on the quiz was "living in a global media economy" how have i been affected, well this is how I've been affected i'm able to learn about Mexico and the tragedies that are going on. CNN allows us view with our own eyes the story that is being told instead of reading about it or listening to it over the radio.

Hip Hop Actor

Joaquin Phoenix the actor who starred in Walk the Line, Signs, and Hotel Rwanda has changed his image from actor to hip hop artist. Do to the stressful environment in the movie industry Joaquin feels that he does not want to be an actor nomore, after winning a Grammy for the soundtrack he recorded for walk the line he decided to pursue his music career. Well his doing a pretty good job at changing his image for the public first he grew his hair and facial hair out so nobody can recognize him and at his latest hip hop concert he gets into with a fan in the crowd. I hope the best for Joaquin because i liked him in Signs but he's doing a pretty good job at changing his image by fighting at his hip hop concerts this can help him out with record sales....

had a youtube clip but the fight at his concert is no longer online for some reason...probably dont want to hurt his image lol

Border Patrol

I remember the class talking about stereotypes and how cultures are represented in the media, lately there been a lot of violence at the US and Mexican border. The media is using this story to make awareness that the US border is allowing Mexicans to get drugs and weapons into the states. They stereotype mexicans and other foreign countries for having drug lords and being involved with organize crime, the first thing that came to mind was "Maria Full Of Grace" and her story we discuss in class, one of our discussions was on mis-representation and racial stereotyping in media and i thought this story related to our topic....

Genre

Hey just watch this documentary called Art o Action: Martial Arts on the encore channel with comcast and they was discussing the different types of martial arts films and genres in the 1980's and 70's. I just thought for a minute about class and the different types of genres we talk about, just thought i would post this because i learned a lot through this documentary about Asian films and the use of martial arts, storytelling, characters to design a martial art film style. They discuss heroes, vilians and the way they are depicted in the films and the roles they play plus the role of a female character in these films, well I'm off to bed....

Prez

In many lands on this planet if a 16th president got assassinated in a dingy downtown theatre during wartime, the place would be turned into TNT dust by dawn. Not in Washington. Which has stubbornly clung to Ford's Theatre as Lincoln did overnight to life. The location of one of the most heinous crimes in national history has been turned into a tourist site, a National Historic Site and even 144 years after the bullet-to-the-back-of-the-brain of Abraham Lincoln, it's had a $25 million remodel to preserve the painful place. There, tonight, on the eve of the Emancipator's 200th birthday, which isn't even its own holiday anymore, a well-dressed crowd of fancy folks celebrated a grand reopening with an artistic gala that included eloquent remarks by the country's first African American president. It was such an important evening that even Katie Couric came all the way from New York. The no-longer-old theatre is close to the Pennsylvania Avenue inaugural parade route of just three weeks ago. It took the current First Family all of three minutes to get there in an armored Cadillac this evening. It took the Lincolns a little bit longer to do that on his one-way carriage trip to the theatre back in April of 1865.The 44th president, a Democrat who used the Lincoln Bible at his inauguration, will continue his association with the first Republican president Thursday with a trip back to Illinois, the adopted state of both men.And Obama will speak late tomorrow in Springfield, where both men served in the state legislature, where Obama launched his unlikely presidential campaign two years ago this week and where the lanky Lincoln spent his first presidential election day 148+ years ago buying a pair of socks and wandering down to the telegraph office in the evening to check voting returns.

Economy Downfall

Economy is going bad and every company, business, etc are feeling it, Sirius XM Radio Inc has been working with its advisers to prepare for a possible bankruptcy filing, the New York Times reported on its website on Tuesday, citing people close to the company. The move could put pressure on satellite television company EchoStar Corp, which reportedly holds a substantial amount of Sirius XM debt. The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that EchoStar chief Charles Ergen made an offer to take control of the satellite radio company late last year, but he was rebuffed.Sirius officials did not respond to several telephone and email messages, and EchoStar declined comment.Sirius has been working with restructuring expert Joseph A. Bondi of Alvarez & Marsal and bankruptcy lawyer Mark Thompson of Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett to help prepare a Chapter 11 filing, the New York Times reported, adding that a filing could come within days.

No Air Play

Local radio station WAKS FM/ 96.5 has removed all music by pop star Chris Brown currently under police investigation for allegedly attacking his girlfriend, 20-year-old singer Rihanna from its on-air playlist until further notice.Brown, 19, was arrested Sunday night in Los Angeles and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He was released after posting $50,000 bail.Rihanna reportedly suffered visible injuries in the alleged physical confrontation in a car early Sunday morning. She is cooperating with police building a domestic violence case against Brown, according to press reports."After the alleged incident the phones exploded," Java Joel, evening host at "KISS FM" WAKS, said in a press release issued by Clear Channel. WAKS is owned by Clear Channel. "It's all that people wanted to talk about. They were outraged at this alleged behavior and wondered why we were continuing to support his music. I agreed and immediately pulled all Chris Brown songs from my show until this thing shakes out in the legal system."KISS program director Bo Matthews said he decided to take Brown's music off the station entirely. "It appears that Chris has made some poor choices, we are following the lead of our listeners, and we will not be supporting Chris Brown on 96.5 Kiss FM in Cleveland until the alleged situation gets resolved," Matthews said. This isn't the only fallout from Brown's legal troubles. The makers of Doublemint gum have stopped airing a television commercial featuring the singer.

Hey waddup everybody just wanted to share this thought, this commercial just came on that i thought was pretty funny im having trouble posting videos on here but i do have pictures, alright you probably wondering what commercial i must of seen well here it is "SNUGGIES BLANKET." WOWZER's

Wow this is funny and crazy at the same time, people all over the world love those I love New York reality show's i dont understand why but they do, well my question is do these producers do a good background before they put these people on there shows....well check this out, the winner of the first season of VH1’s Charm School, was serving time in a prison in California. But you’re not going to believe WHY!!!.You see it turns out that Saaphyri has a very checkered past. Actually, her name isn’t even Saaphyri Windsor – it’s Wanda Scott. she’s been on the run from the law for the past 3 years. In 2004, Saaphyri was arrested for stealing her uncle’s identity and running up thousands of dollars in debt (allegedly, the money was used for her BREAST IMPLANTS). Instead of going to trial, however, the Charm School Winner pled no contest to the charges and was scheduled to be sentenced on November 18, 2005.
But Saaphyri NEVER showed up to sentencing. And so from November 18, 2005 until November 22nd 2008 (when she was pulled over in L.A. for driving with an invalid license), Saaphyri’s been on the run. So what, you ask, was Saaphyri doing in those 3 years that she was hiding from the law. Well according to her profile on imdb.com, she’s made 16 TV appearances. Among the show appearances were VH1’s Charm School (which she won) and the Tyra Banks Show. And she’s actually on VH1’s CURRENT SEASON of I Love Money - which airs every Monday night. Here’s the full list:
  • "Reality Obsessed" .... Herself (1 episode, 2008)
  • "Hole in the Wall" .... Herself (1 episode, 2008)
  • "VH1: All Access" .... Herself (1 episode, 2008)
  • "Baisden After Dark" .... Herself (1 episode, 2007)
  • Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav (2007) (TV) .... Herself
  • "Flavor of Love Girls: Charm School" .... Herself (7 episodes, 2007)

  • Be original

Yeah i was just online surfing the web cuz im bored and i stumble across this preview of this movie that came out called Terminator Salvation and something pop into my head like why are they still making these terminator movies. I understand that Warner Bros and other film company's know that they can make millions off a film but lets be serious how long can you stretch Terminator dont they already have a show on Fox or something based on the movie but the main character is a female instead of a male. I'm a fan of the Terminator series but after Gov Arnold Schwarzenegger went down in the hot lavar giving a thumbs up i was sold then but now its just boring going to watch a movie you already know that humans must win going against the machines.....

    Enjoy

    Baby just had a baby

Baby-faced Alfie, who is 13 but looks more like eight, became a father four days ago when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman gave birth to 7lb 3oz Maisie Roxanne.

He told how he and Chantelle, 15, decided against an abortion after discovering she was pregnant.

The shy lad, whose voice has not yet broken, said: “I thought it would be good to have a baby.

“I didn’t think about how we would afford it. I don’t really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me $10.”

Alfie, who is just 4ft tall, added: “When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble. We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react.

“I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.”

Alfie’s dad Dennis told how the lad does not really understand the enormity of his situation — but seemed desperate to be a devoted and responsible father.

“He said I should tell my mum but I was too scared.

“We didn’t think we would need help from our parents. You don’t really think about that when you find out you are pregnant. You just think your parents will kill you.”

Alfie’s dad, who is separated from Nicola, believes the lad is scared deep down.

“When you mention money his eyes look away. And she is reliant on her mum and dad. It’s crazy. They have no idea what lies ahead.”
